Headfort Green School Clothing Recycling Collection

By February 12, 2014 News

The Headfort Green School Committee have decided to conduct a clothing recycling collection, in order to increase awareness among the school community regarding the importance of recycling and reusing items that are no longer any use to the original owner.

We also hope to use this opportunity as a fundraising event.  This year we are working on the ‘Water’ theme.  We have been looking at ways in which we can conserve water and reduce water usage within the school.  We are exploring the possibility of harvesting rainwater and intend to purchase a “water butt”.

We would be extremely grateful, if you could help us out, by having a look through your cupboards over the half term break and donating any items of clothing, bags, shoes or bed linen you may no longer use.  We can accept torn and stained items as well.

We will provide each pupil with a plastic bag and information regarding the recycling company and the items which it can accept. Please feel free to fill as many bags as you wish.  Full bags can be returned to school on Sunday evening 23rdFebruary or Monday morning 24th February 2014.  Should you need to arrange a more convenient time, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Kelly.

Thank you for your continued support.

Best regards
