Lough Crew 2012

On Sunday 20th May, weekend boarders had an outing to Lough Crew Adventure Centre, near Oldcastle, County Meath. It was a great afternoon out and everyone was kept very busy. Students were divided into three groups of 8-9 and escorted around the site and instructed in the various activities by some very enthusiastic group leaders, who had us fying down zip-wires, climbing to the top of wooden walls, firing arrows with bows and generally clambering through trees and forest assault courses. A great deal of enjoyment was had by all 26 boarders who were in school for the weekend.

Headfort’s Big Day Out

“Headfort’s Big Day Out” is taking place at Headfort School on Sunday 27th May (12.00 – 5.00). Proceeds of this fundraising event will go towards Crumlin Children’s Hospital as well as to the school. The day will also provide the ideal opportunity to showcase Headfort School and Montessori. UVI Art and Cultural Trip

On Friday 27th April UVI pupils, accompanied by Mrs. Pratt-Jarvis and Mrs. Morgan, went on their annual art and cultural trip to the National Gallery in Dublin and Russborough House, in Blessington, County Wicklow. The National Gallery The National Gallery of Ireland was first opened to the public on January 30th 1864. Today it houses the Nation’s extensive collection of European and Irish Fine art. This term we had a guided tour of the collection’s highlights. We saw nine different paintings by a range of different artists and spent about five minutes with each one.
