Headfort 25 Maidwell Hall 25 The opening match of the season saw the visit of Maidwell Hall from England. It was a do-or die-encounter for both teams, and it showed from the opening whistle. Maidwell piled on the pressure and opened the scoring with a well worked try. This early lead was wiped out almost immediately by a breakaway try from centre and captain Patrick L. DSD, Oct 2016 The girls’ team had its first outing this week against Cavan Royal School at home. It was a fabulous match — plenty of end-to-end action, good skills and three goals. Alas, Cavan scored two of the goals (one with the last hit of the match) so we lost 2-1. But despite the agony of losing in that fashion, there is a lot to be pleased about.
