Statistically, this season has been one of the best for several years: only one defeat and we scored over double the number of points we conceded. We began the term rather naively but as the season progressed we became more streetwise and the noble art of coarse rugby became more of a reality. Early indications were not promising – poor skill levels compounded by very unfit children made for some very dour early-season training sessions. Concert at Headfort School on 3rd March by Sidney Whelan blues guitarist

Headfort School is delighted to announce that Sid Whelan will appear at Headfort at 7.00 pm on Thursday 3rd March for a solo concert. Sid Whelan is a blues-inspired American Roots guitarist and songwriter who is becoming known for his well-crafted lyrics and his harmonically-rich guitar voicings. At Headfort he’ll be performing classics of the American Blues canon as well as songs from his 2013 CD ‘Flood Waters Rising’ which Blues Matters (UK) called “…a definitive return of a great musician”; from his 2015 disc ‘The Story of Ike Dupree’; as well as some previews from his upcoming soon-to-be-recorded discs…
