Rubgy and hockey versus Rockport

Mike Bolton and Dermot Dix took a boys’ rugby and a girls’ hockey team to Rockport outside Belfast this week. The journey (there and back) was perhaps rather more eventful than we planned for: all told, we were away for nine hours! The matches went well. In rugby, honours were even at 17-17. The Headfort tries were scored by Akin B, Patrick L and Paco M, with Patrick kicking one conversion. Mr Bolton had left behind one or two stronger players in order to make a good match of it. Girls Win Hockey League Match

The girls had a fine 2-0 win away today against a good Dundalk Grammar School team. Aurora HJ kept another clean sheet in goal, the captain Willa RH swept up everything at the back, and goals were scored by Evie P (assisted by Ella R) and Ines C (assisted by Florrie O’D).
