The girls started their season today with a 1-1 draw in a friendly match against an older Drogheda Grammar team comprising 1st and 2nd year girls. Fully 18 Headfort girls played today, captained by Willa RH. We were 1-0 down at half time, but put great sustained pressure on the Drogheda goal all through the second half — and were rewarded with a well-taken goal by Tara W not long before the end of the match. This was a fine start to the season; the girls are pleased — and looking forward to next Thursday’s league match against Cavan Royal….
