V Montrose R.F.C Friday 14th November Headfort 52 – Montrose 0 Played under lights (a first for most of the team) on an enormous pitch. We adapted well and started the stronger team. We opened our try-scoring with a well worked wide ball to Javi S. who romped home untouched. The wide pitch suited our speedy backs as we moved the ball with ease, trying out several of our prepared moves. The pack dominated and provided plenty for our backs to work with. Tries followed from Beltran M., Alexander H. and Patrick H. Javi S. picked up another two to…

AIJS Hockey Tournament Mount Anville Tuesday 18th November 2014

By | Sport

On Tuesday I took the girls to Mount Anville in Dundrum for the annual 8 a-side AIJS hockey tournament. There were about 16 schools taking part. We drew our first game 0-0  which was a good result considering the opposition, Teresians, a good side this year. Rugby Match Reports V St. Columba’s & St. Conleth’s

By | Sport

V St. Columba’s College Thursday 23rd October. Headfort won 12-10 We got off to another slow start allowing Columba’s in for an early try. We fought our way back into the game, stringing together some good passages of play but still had not managed to put a score on the board by half time. We came out fighting in the second half and were rewarded for our efforts when Patrick Hare sliced through their defence and touched down to open our account. Our pack rucked well and started to work well as a unit, providing good ball for our backs…
