This term our head riding teacher Mary Maher has been preparing a number of our children for their C test in the Pony Club: Hannah Adams, Poppy Conolly-Carew, Hannah Langan and Mimi O’Grady. Two other riders, Lucy Hancock and Anna Hayden are in serious training for the forthcoming Eventing season. All of the above-named riders as well as Annie Kavanagh, Philip Shekleton, Florence Sheridan, David O’Sullivan, Jodie Taylor and Kealan Taylor are all looking forward to the start of the Hunter Trial season.

The children are sad that the snow deprived them of the chance to beat their parents in today’s much anticipated scheduled Parents vs School encounter. The Mixed XI are through to the semi-finals of the Leinster Under-13 league in which we participate. The match, against Taney School, is due to be played on Wednesday 13th March at 1.15. Come and support the team!

  The top three forms will perform their plays on Tuesday 12th and Thursday 14th March. Reception at 6.30, curtain at 7.15 each evening. Boarding parents: you are free to take your children home after Thursday’s performance for the holidays. Day parents: Note that there will be no school for day pupils on Friday 15th March.

The Mixed First XI have had an excellent season since January, continuing on after the Girls’ XI’s unbeaten run before Christmas. The mixed team has won three matches and drawn two, placing them second in the Leinster Under-13 league in which they participate and qualifying the team for a place in the semi-finals. Twice the team came back from 1-0 down at half time to score three goals in the second half and secure a win – against the King’s Hospital (Danny Kim scored a hat-trick) and also against Dundalk Grammar (Lucia Franco scored twice and Philip Shekleton once).
