Children remain at Headfort until they are either twelve or thirteen, depending on which secondary school they are bound for. The Headmaster is happy to advise parents on suitable secondary schools.

Headfort children tend to move on to Clongowes Wood, Glenstal Abbey, St. Columba’s College, the King’s Hospital and Newtown. As for British schools, we have recently sent children to Marlborough, Eton, Ampleforth (including one recent scholar), Glenalmond, Shrewsbury, Wycombe Abbey, Harrow and Gordonstoun.

Moving on to third-level education, recent Headfort ‘alums’ have studied at all of the following universities (and others): Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin, NUI - Maynooth, Edinburgh, Cambridge, Oxford, St. Andrew’s, Durham, Imperial College London, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), and the Oxford School of Drama.
